What is "Yoga-Nidra"?
Yoga Nidra is a sleeping pose to get relax from body and mind.It is a process between sleeping and waking.By practicing Yoga-Nidra we can get relief from stress.Yoga Nidra" makes people aware about the inner world make us consciousness.Main Goal of Yoga Nidra,Meditation and Yoga is same.Yoga-Nidra means stay conscious and aware during the time of sleep. 

Origin of "Yoga Nidra"

Yoga-Nidra is same old as Yoga.There are two types of myth related with the origin of "Yoga Nidra". Some say the origin of "Yoga Nidra" came from "Upanishad" and some people say that the origin of "Yoga Nidra' came from "Markandriya Purana".The truth is that the Word "Yoga Nidra" firstly mentioned in Devi Mahatmya one of the great part of Markandriya Purana as:
 // Utpanneti   Tada     Loke    Sanityapybhidhiyate /
 / Yoganidram Yada Vishnurjagatyekarnavikrite //


According to  the  visualizations  of  Maharshri  Markandriya, during the end of Kalpa, God Bishnu was on the pose of Yoga nidra by lying on the bed of snake name Sesha and creating a world.

Yoga Nidra in Modern time

In modern time for the first time "Yoga-Nidra" experienced by Satyananda Swaraswati . He experienced "Yoga Nidra" when he living in his guru Sivananda Swaraswati. After practice he founded a system of relaxation which is become popular in mid 20th century.He explained "Yoga Nidra" as a state between wake-up and sleep which open a deep phase of mind.According to Satyananda Swaraswati there are eight stage of Yoga Nidra. These are breath awareness, appearance that shows the existence of a particular condition,creative mindset,internalization means  the action of accepting or absorbing an idea,sankalpa,rotation of consciousness, expression of bad feelings means externalization)
Scientific study and benefits of Yoga nidra
Yoga nidra is associated with increased growth of neurotransmitter in the brain.It improves the heart rate,create balance in the nervous system.Regular practice of Yoga Nidra has been found to reduce tension and anxiety. The main effect of anxiety are headache, chest pain, abdominal pain, sweating, feeling the heart is beating too quickly or not regularly and excitement. By practicing Yoga Nidra we can over come from these Problems.

Some important steps of Yoga Nidra

Lie down with your sitting bones on the piece of cloth and with the bolster supporting you from the low back to the head. Place a folded blanket under your head for a pillow. Notice and welcome sounds, smells, and taste as well as color and light. Release exceed tension throughout your body and feel a sense of relaxation spreading throughout your entire body and mind.

Some Important steps of "Yoga-Nidra"

1. Think about Your Desire

Think about your heartfull desire - that something you want more than anything in your life.Whether it is a desire of well-being or well health.Feel the desire with your entire body and then imagine the moments if it were true.

2. Set an Intention

Set an intention today and practice Yoga-Nidra. It might be to relax and rest into a particular sensation, emotion, or belief.What kind of intention you have,accept it with your body and mind completely and practice Yoga-Nidra.

3. Find Your Inner Resource.

Find Your inner resources where you feel secure,happy,well-being and calm.For this you may imagine a person or place who help you feel safe,secure and make you happy.

5. Observe Your Breath

Observe the natural flow of your breath and feel the energy that gives your breath in to your body.

6. Welcome Your Feelings.

Without any changing feel the sensations such as tension and happiness and emotions such as sadness,anger and then without judging feel the opposite sensations and emotions.It makes your body relaxed.
